The Back Arching Stage – Authentic Family Photography Townsville
I like to call this Family Photography Session “The Back Arching Stage”. It should be the official name for this stage of a toddler’s life. When he would much rather be running free (especially toward water) than being held. He is at a wonderful age where independence is discovered, and every moment feels like an adventure.
This delicious little boy, however, was more than happy to perch on my hip now and then, pressing camera buttons while I photographed his parents.
This beautiful family has faced more in the past few years than many do in a lifetime. Yet you wouldn’t know it from their smiles or the way they speak. They’re the kind of people who, even in the middle of their own challenges, will ask how you are and mean it. His Mumma has the biggest, most genuine smile, and their gratitude shines through it all.
Deep love.
It’s a privilege to walk beside them — to witness their growth as individuals and as a couple. I’ve seen them grieve and celebrate at the same time, love and support each other deeply, and open their lives with vulnerability, letting others be part of their precious journey. If you would like to hear some of their journey, their story of their twin boys is available to listened or watched over at the Premie Pod or on the Premie Pod’s Youtube Chanel
They are just newly married! But we knew a family session was also important. I did worry for a moment that it might turn into a “George Photoshoot” (because I adore this boy so much!) But we captured it all, and the love between them is what truly shines through.
Oh, and I have to mention — he said my name! We all heard it but couldn’t get him to repeat it on the spot. Later that night, they sent me a recording: “Katie.” I may have played it more than a few times.
