Matt and Elise said they always wanted to renew their marriage vows every ten years…after documenting their first vow renewal I am hoping they make it an annual event!

I love weddings. I love being part of two peoples day while they declare their love and commitment to each other. What could be more powerful than that? Choosing to declare it all over again when you have travelled ten years together…when you have had 3 children…when you have chosen to stand by those vows you said whole heartedly all those years ago, but unknowingly of what lay ahead.

Together they planned the most intimate ceremony and wrote the most powerful vows. Their three children stood beside them throughout the ceremony.  The honesty and deep love between these two is beautiful… strong… humble… gracious… powerful… soft. It is everlasting.

The day was fun and relaxed, with so much thought put into the planning. For weeks beforehand Elise had been making beautiful macrame skirts for the vases of flowers. Matt strung approximately 1 million fairy lights throughout the old dining room. Elise’s brought in her original wedding dress for her daughter to have the absolute delight of trying on.  Their children ran the ceremony and their eldest son was the MC for the night.  We rode in Grandad’s first car and celebrated where so many family celebrations had been before at The Queens Hotel.

Matt and Elise you are stand outs in every way!  I can’t thank you enough for inviting me to be part this day. Thank you for trusting and  giving me total permission to capture your day the way I saw it. x
